Sherwood Productions is my digital home project studio.  Like many other home-based studios, it has evolved and expanded over a period of years with gear purchases and home renovations as I could afford them.  The first incarnation began in the mid-1980s with a Teac 4-track reel-to-reel recorder and whatever gear I could borrow to get the job done.  I spent many hours writing, recording and learning how to make the most of what little I had to work with.  An invaluable experience to be sure.  

In 1991, I bought my first MIDI workstation/keyboard - a Yamaha SY77, along with a Roland R-8M percussion module (both of which still get regular use), a Tascam 4-track Portastudio and a J.L. Cooper sync tone generator/reader.  This set-up became the basic foundation for all that was to follow and served me well until I had the resources to make the transition to a computer-based digital system.

While the primary function of the Sherwood Productions studio continues to be for recording, mixing and producing my original material, it also serves as a remote production and limited tracking facility for select original music projects.
